Overview
RollCall ("we", "our", "us") is a board game event organizer app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and services.
Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use RollCall:
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your username, display name, and optionally your email address. If you sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name and email from those services.
Profile Information: You may optionally provide pronouns, favorite games, snack preferences, and a BoardGameGeek profile link.
Usage Data: We collect data about your activity within the app, including events you attend, games you play, messages you send, and votes you cast in polls.
Payment Information: If you upgrade to a Pro plan, payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. We only store a Stripe customer ID to manage your subscription.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
Provide and operate the RollCall service, including managing your groups, events, and game nights. Facilitate communication between group members through our messaging system. Display game statistics, leaderboards, and play history within your groups. Process payments for Pro subscriptions through Stripe. Send you important service updates and notifications within the app.
Information Sharing
Your profile information (display name, pronouns, favorite games) is visible to other members of your groups. Messages are only visible to conversation participants. Game statistics are visible to members of the group where games were played.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the app: Stripe for payment processing, Neon for database hosting, and Vercel for app hosting.
Third-Party Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google or Facebook, we receive your name and email address from those services. We use this information solely to create and manage your RollCall account. We do not post to your social media accounts or access any other data from these services.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from your Profile page, which will permanently remove all your personal data, game history, messages, and group memberships.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor.
Children's Privacy
RollCall is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any significant changes through the app. Continued use of RollCall after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
